Sul Ross Capital, Inc. Announces New Officers

The Board of Directors of Sul Ross Capital, Inc. (“SRC”) is excited to announce several new additions to SRC’s leadership team. On November 27, 2023, after several rounds of interviews and discussions, the SRC Board of Directors unanimously approved the below candidates for various officer positions.
Separately, effective November 21, 2023, Coy Westbrook has retired from the SRC Board; he will still remain an active participant in SRC’s programs. We would like to formally thank Coy for his seven years of dedicated service to SRC. During his tenure, Coy was a major part of SRC’s formative years serving as Director, Executive Vice President, Secretary, and in other roles.
Blane Austin Counsil ’19 – Interim Director and Vice President of Alumni Engagement
Blane Austin Counsil is from Madisonville, Texas. During his time at Texas A&M University, he was a member of the Corps of Cadets. He served as the Commander of the O.R. Simpson Honor Society, Scholastics Officer of the 3rd Brigade Executive Staff, and Leather Officer of Parsons Mounted Cavalry. He also served as the President for the Department of Agricultural Economics Aggie REPs. In addition to these positions, Blane also interned with Congressman John Carter (TX-31) as well as the Texas A&M University System office in Washington D.C. While at A&M Blane worked for Texas AgriLife Extension Service while he completed his Bachelors in Agricultural Economics and a Master’s in Public Service Administration. Presently, he works as a project coordinator for Fathom5, an industrial technology company, based out of Austin, Texas. He is a member of Sul Ross #1300 Masonic Lodge, a member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Livestock Committee, and a volunteer for Rodeo Austin. Blane is excited to pay it forward to students within the Aggie family just as individuals did for him.
Steven C. Gooch ‘22 – Executive Vice President
Steven currently resides in Austin, Texas. During his time at Texas A&M University he was the Chair of Traditions Council, Fish Camp Counselor, and involved in various other university committees. Steven obtained his Bachelors of Business Administration in Business Honors and Marketing Analytics. Currently, Steven is employed as an Account Executive at Brooksource.
Cedrick K. Mattli ’21 – Secretary
Cedrick Mattli currently resides in Frisco, Texas. During his time at Texas A&M University he was a member of the Corps of Cadets (Company S-2), Vice President of Legislative Relations for the Texas A&M Student Government Association, and Director of the MSC SCONA program. Cedrick obtained his B.A. in Philosophy from Texas A&M University with a Russian minor. Currently, Cedrick is employed at Peak Financing and their associated groups. The firm is a Commercial Real Estate mortgage broker with other real estate business activities. Cedrick is also currently involved in the Allen Food Pantry and the Knights of Columbus. Cedrick is excited to provide academic scholarships to deserving Texas A&M students.
Sean Emery Castleman ‘19 – Vice President of Philanthropic Development
Sean Castleman currently resides in Houston, Texas. During his time at Texas A&M University he was a member of the Corps of Cadets (Company S-1), SGA Student Senate, Class Counsil, Phi Kappa Psi (Communications Officer), and various other campus organizations. Sean Castleman has spent his early career developing and leveraging interpersonal relationships in the technology industry. Selling at the enterprise level for companies such as Amazon. Sean understands how to communicate value to stakeholders and looks to leverage his professional experience to grow awareness and support for important philanthropic initiatives/scholarship opportunities at Sul Ross Capital.
Antonio Partida ’21 – Vice President
Antonio currently resides in Rowlett, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University as a member of the Cornerstone Liberal Arts Honors Program in May 2021 with a B.A. in History and a minor in English, summa cum laude. During his time at Texas A&M, Antonio served as a Major Unit Commander in the Corps of Cadets and as the Historian for the Ross Volunteer Company. He was a member of the Texas A&M Free Speech Forum, TAMU Model UN Club, and Aggie Career Team, and was inducted into the honors societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa.
Antonio is currently a 3L at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he serves as Magister for the Monteith Inn of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Society, External Vice President of SMU’s International Law Society, and Vice President of the Aggie Mustang Law Society. Antonio also serves as the student Editor-in-Chief of The International Lawyer, the triannial publication of the International Law Section of the American Bar Association and most widely distributed U.S. international law review in the world.
Antonio plans to practice corporate law in the Dallas area following graduation, and looks forward to helping deserving Aggies succeed during their time at Texas A&M and beyond.
